Complete Diamond Drilling Services, the Smile Foundation and Hull construction partners have recently joined forces to donate their resources to improvement works at the city’s Sunshine House childrens’ hospice.
As part of the major refurbishment, at an estimated cost of £110,000, Complete Diamond Drilling Services donated four days of doorway cutting, floor breaking and tile removing and sister company Complete Hire Services provided free equipment to support Sunshine House in its development of new children and family rooms, bathrooms and additional storage.
Complete Diamond Drilling Services was asked for support by customer Sewell Group whose staff members completed a 555 mile bike ride from Hull to Scotland in just 5 days and raised almost £50,000 worth of pledges from their supply chain.
Peter Houldridge, Managing Director of Complete Diamond Drilling Services, said: “When we found out about the impressive work Sunshine House carries out for local children and their families we were happy to be able to support this worthy cause.”
Sunshine House cares for children from Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire who have a clinical nursing need. This includes children with life limiting conditions, complex health needs and those who need terminal care. Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust runs the unit and provides staff and medical equipment, however any extras have to be covered by fundraising. You can play your part by raising funds, or by donating online to the just giving page http://www.justgiving.com/sunshinesmile
